Shacky’s story began with a crowdfunding campaign in which the early Shacky supporters pledged over $25,000. These funds enabled us to build our first Shacky, install it on the ‘Tarndie-farm’ in the Otways and start renting it out.
Not long after that Shacky was chosen as one of the most promising startups in Melbourne and the company became part of the ‘Melbourne Accelerator Program’. Meanwhile the first Shacky was almost completely booked out, reached an amazing return on investment and got even better reviews from guests. The team expanded with some of the most driven and creative talents in Melbourne and the well-known architect Jan van Schaik (MvS Architects) was hired to help design the new generation of Shackys. Together we researched what the ideal configuration was for our Tiny Houses. We asked ourselves and others what a house meant for us. How we interact with it and how we could improve it until eventually we started creating something unique. A Tiny House specifically designed to bring its guest in contact with the surrounding environment.
The result is our new Shacky.
A minimalistic Tiny House especially designed for a relaxing and comfortable weekend away. Ultimately we hope we can inspire more people to go out and enjoy the beautiful Australian landscape in a comfortable way!
Have a good day!
